Cannabis Q & A With Madera City Manager Arnoldo Rodriguez

Retail cannabis shops are slated to open in Madera in the coming months. City Manager Arnoldo Rodriguez recently sat down with The Madera Tribune to discuss what it means for the city.

Madera is still reviewing applications. The final steps of the process occur in October. According to Rodriguez, a total of 28 applications have been submitted.

The city will allow only eight retail storefronts, two of which must contain a social equity component. To ensure fairness, an outside company is reviewing the applications. Each application is around 200 pages.
