Red Bluff Makes Changes to Draft Marijuana Ordinance

The Red Bluff City Council is working on plans to allow commercial cannabis shops in the city. It added changes to a draft ordinance that would permit up to 3 dispensaries last week. They can’t be within 600 feet of a school (the previous language specified 500 feet).

The ordinance restricts dispensaries’ operating hours from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Loitering within 50 feet of a dispensary would be prohibited.

The city received a draft ordinance and petition with around 1,400 signatures from Revive Red Bluff earlier this month. The group is paving the way for the first legalized commercial cannabis businesses in Tehama County. Earlier this year, the city council hired special cannabis counsel to assist the city in revising the draft cannabis ordinance.
