Next year’s state fair will feature a cannabis competition

Cannabis is now an integral part of California’s economy and culture, and what better way to signify its normalcy then with a place at the California State Fair?

The Cal Expo board of directors has approved what may be the first ever state-sanctioned cannabis competition. Alongside wine, cheese, and olive oil, judges at the 2022 State Fair will crown the best cannabis in the state.

First things first. No judges will be getting high at this event. Entries will be sent to a laboratory and judged on their chemical composition beforehand. There are seven different categories and all 7,000 licensed cultivators are eligible to participate.
