National City Welcomes Cannabis Lounges

National City approved a marijuana ordinance this month that will make it the only San Diego County city to permit cannabis lounges.
The ordinance allows three dispensaries and three lounges. Those must be located in National City’s Tourist Commercial Zone.
The ordinance faced community opposition and was opposed by the city’s Planning Commission. The vote was 4-1 with Councilman Ron Morrison dissenting.
“This is an opportunity to help bring new business in but also to thinking creatively," National City Mayor Alejandra Sotelo-Solis said.
