Turlock May Regulate Hemp Businesses

The Turlock City Council approved a new ordinance regulating hemp businesses during a first reading on September 10. The Council is expected to vote again on September 22.

The ordinance would allow hemp businesses that extract chemicals and manufacture products. It would not allow cultivation of hemp.

Businesses could apply for a permit to operate in industrial areas, but not the downtown. A screening program would be established to ensure products don’t exceed 0.3% of THC.
