Siskiyou marijuana raids on track to triple this year

Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey doesn’t mess around when it comes to pot. The sheriff has made it a priority to enforce the county’s ordinance against outdoor cultivation. And Lopey now says seizures of cannabis plants by local authorities are on track to triple in 2020.

An enforcement blitz that ran from August 31 through September 4, 2020 led to the confiscation of 31,000 marijuana plants, 3,305 pounds of processed weed, and multiple firearms.
