Cannabis Extract Use On the Rise

Cannabis extract products such as concentrates, vapes, topicals, and edibles have comprised 57% of legal cannabis sales so far this year. That’s according to BDSA, Brightfield Group and New Frontier Data. Cannabis extract sales should make up $10.2 billion of the $18 billion in total legal sales for 2020.
Among extracts, vapes are the most popular (32%) — even after the scourge of vaping illnesses last year. Edibles are next (13%).
Since 2019, sales of edibles and topicals have grown by 37%. Some of it is driven by new cannabis markets in midwestern states, according to the research firms.
