Yolo adds New Hemp Restrictions

Yolo County has adopted new restrictions on industrial hemp. In a 4-1 vote, the Board of Supervisors banned hemp manufacturing, processing, and storage. But the dais decided not to move forward with language banning retail sales.

“Altogether, staff concluded that county regulation of retail sales of industrial hemp products would add little or nothing to existing federal and state restrictions,” said a county report. “Staff will, however, continue to monitor developments in this area and will apprise the board of any significant changes during future presentations on county regulation of industrial hemp.”

Supervisor Duane Chamberlain cast the only no vote.
