SAFE Banking Access Included in Latest Coronavirus Relief Bill
A new coronavirus relief package introduced by U.S. House leaders on Tuesday includes a provision that would protect banks that do business with state legal marijuana businesses.
The Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act that is being included in the latest relief package was sponsored by Rep. Earl Perlmutter (D-OR). You can read the text here
I just learned the #SAFEBankingAct is included in the CARES 2.0 package. I have been pushing for this because the #COVID19 crisis has only exacerbated the risk posed to cannabis businesses & their employees & they need relief just like any other legitimate business. #copolitics— Rep. The House could vote on the relief bill as early as the end of the week.
