San Francisco’s Pot Shops Can Remain Open Despite Lockdown
San Francisco cannabis users and business owners scored a major victory Tuesday when the city’s Department of Public Health exempted cannabis dispensaries from its shelter-in-place orders.
“Cannabis is an essential medicine for many San Francisco residents,” the Department said. “Dispensaries can continue to operate as essential businesses during this time, while practicing social distancing and other public health recommendations.”
Just prior to the lockdown, there was a run on dispensaries in the city. Curbside pick-up and delivery services have skyrocketed in the aftermath of social distancing.
