Vaping Illnesses Continue to Rise as CDC Investigators Make “Breakthrough”

The number of vaping-related illnesses continues to rise, with lung injuries hitting 2,172 on Thursday.

California and Illinois have seen the most cases. The only state unscathed is Alaska. 42 people have died across 24 states.

The CDC had a recent “breakthrough” in its investigation into the cause of the illness. Health officials are increasingly leaning toward vitamin E acetate in illicit cannabis-containing products as the cause.

The epdemic of vaping-related lung infections has led a number of cities and counties to crack down on vaping and e-cigarette products.
