San Diego Mulls Changes to Cannabis Advertising

State law already prohibits cannabis billboards within 1,000 feet of sensitive sites such as schools. San Diego wants to add public parks to that list.

The Planning Commission will take up the proposed changes on Oct. 24. The new regulations would apply to both legal and illegal businesses.

A few other changes are contained in the package of rule changes under consideration in the city. San Diego may also replace the word “marijuana” with the word “cannabis” in all official city documents and lift some restrictions on where cannabis businesses may operate.
