Kern County Supervisors Approve Marijuana Ballot Measure

Kern County voters will face two different ballot measures that would legalize medicinal cannabis sales in March 2020.

On Tuesday, supervisors voted unanimously to place a measure on the ballot, despite pleas from cannabis advocates who don’t want to see the vote split.

The county measure would allow both delivery and dispensary sales of medicinal pot. It would impose a business tax of 3.5% of gross receipts. It would require operators to obtain a conditional use permit first.
