Cannabis Testing Labs See Less Chaos in 2019

California’s cannabis testing labs are finally finding their footing.

Marijuana Business Daily has been surveying labs to see how they’re adjusting since state law began mandating testing on all marijuana sold in stores. The publication found that business is stabilizing, wait times have tapered off, the product failure rate has been reduced, and the state’s 27 approved labs are no longer overwhelmed by the workload.

There is still work to be done. Not every business can afford the tests, in part because they’re still being subjected to unfair competition from the black market. Some retailers have also been caught misrepresenting lab findings, forcing the labs to go after them.

But there’s no doubt things are headed in the right direction.
