70 Tons of Pot Dumped in Beaumont Landfill

What happens to all that illegal weed confiscated by city and county authorities? Sometimes it heads straight to the dump.

Riverside County officials have buried around 70 tons of marijuana from a recent Anza Valley raid at the Lambs Canyon Landfill in Beaumont, City News Service reports

“The loads were fast tracked through the Lamb Canyon gate fee booth and the seized material was taken to a special drop site on the active pad," the Riverside County Department of Waste Resources said in a press release. The seized marijuana was immediately buried and refuse was immediately piled on top."

The landfill had to remain open past normal hours to accommodate the operation. The 70 tons were dispersed over 10 separate loads.

What a dump!
