2019 Marijuana Factbook Predicts 34% Jump in Industry Employment

Professionally speaking, cannabis is the place to be.

The 2019 Marijuana Factbook is out and it predicts a 34% increase in the number of full-time cannabis employees in the U.S. this year from 130,000 to 160,000 in 2018 to 175,000 to 215,000. By 2023, the figure could be as high as 475,000.

“These gains are driven by continued growth in California’s massive marijuana market as well as the employment needs in other states as new medical and recreational markets develop nationwide,” according to Marijuana Business Daily

The Factbook also reveals that cannabis sales reached $8.6 billion to $10.8 billion last year. They’ll grow an estimated 35% higher this year and could hit the $30 billion mark by 2023.
