Solano County Supervisors Reject Cannabis Events at County Fairgrounds

There will be no 420 celebrations at the Solano County Fairgrounds for the foreseeable future.

The Board of Supervisors defeated a proposal to allow cannabis events on the fairgrounds in Vallejo Tuesday, May 7. Monica Brown and Erin Hannigan had championed the proposal. Jim Spering, Skip Thomson, and John Vasquez voted no.

The decision partly hinged on a provision allowing cannabis use in a designated. Promoters had said some allowance of cannabis consumption on the fairgrounds was crucial. Supervisor Thompson rejected that idea.

According to the Daily Republic, Spering and Vasquez appeared opposed to the events altogether.
