Martha Stewart is Entering the Cannabiz

The domestic goddess who became famous for homemade tarts and centerpieces is now jumping head first into the cannabis business.

That’s right. Martha Stewart’s Sequential Brands Group has struck a deal with Canadian-based cannabis and hemp company Canopy Growth for the launch of a new line of CBD and cannabinoid-derived products, including therapeutic products for pets.

Stewart will work in advisory capacity. Canopy Growth says it will be will be “leaning on Martha’s vast knowledge of consumer products while exploring the effectiveness of marijuana-derived compounds through clinical trials on both humans and animals.”

Canopy Growth has a longstanding relationship with rapper and cannabis entrepreneur Snoop Dogg, who struck up an unlikely and endearing friendship with Stewart a decade ago. It’s only natural that he would have engineered her foray into the world of weed.
