Michigan Legalizes Marijuana, While Two New States Ok Medical Use

While we’re sifting through the dozens of local marijuana measures that went before voters in California last night, we’ve also got results on some pretty important initiatives from other states.

The big one is Michigan, which became the 10th state to legalize recreational pot, and the first in the Midwest to do so.

Meanwhile, in Utah and Missouri, voters passed medical marijuana propositions. There were a total of three on Missouri’s ballot. Vox lays out the specifics of the one that passed.

The one state that didn’t bite was North Dakota. By a margin of 41% in favor to 59% against, North Dakotans rejected a bid to legalize marijuana.
