Marijuana Church Raided by Riverside County Authorities

One hundred pounds of marijuana and up to $100,000 in cash were seized Friday morning from a Riverside County church that has been selling pot to parishioners.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office confirms it served search warrants at two locations in Jurupa Valley and one in Hemet affiliated with the Vault Church. The raids also uncovered indoor marijuana grows that yielded 200 to 300 plants.

Last month, a Riverside County Superior Court Judge issued a lock-out order for the Vault Church, allowing authorities to shut it down. Despite the church’s insistence that marijuana is an integral part of its religious beliefs, the judge found that it was in violation of Jurupa Valley’s ban on commercial pot.
