Lucky 13: Costa Mesa Set to Approve Another Pot Biz

Costa Mesa’s Planning Commission voted 3-2 Monday to grant a conditional use permit to Pivot Naturals LLC to operate a medical marijuana manufacturing and distribution facility in an existing structure on Cadillac Avenue. If given final approval, Pivot would be the 13th business to receive such a permit since the passage of Measure X.

The decision to grant the permit was preceded by some debate over operating hours. While other distribution facilities in the area are allowed to operate for 24 hours a day, Pivot will be limited to the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The permit is not yet a done deal. It still requires final approval pending city fire prevention, finance and building safety inspections, as well as the granting of a local marijuana business permit and state license.
