California Sees Another Cannabis Product Recall

New state testing standards have forced the recall of a third marijuana product -- this time belonging to a Venice-based edibles firm known as the Venice Cookie Company.

Several of Venice Cookie’s marijuana-infused beverages initially passed state testing but then failed upon a follow-up review. The cause was the ethyl alcohol-based flavoring used in the drinks, according to the company’s manufacturer.

California bans the mixing of THC and alcohol. The flavoring resulted in the beverages having an alcohol content above the legal limit for cannabis products.
