More Marijuana Drama in Kern

Tuesday’s meeting was notable more for its theatre than for supervisors’ ultimate inaction. There was frustration, insults, and accusations of wrongdoing against county leaders -- all of it overshadowing an effort to ensure service for the county’s 13,000 legitimate medical marijuana patients.

Among the issues raised at the meeting were alleged conflict-of-interest and campaign finance violations by Supervisor Mike Maggard, explained in detail here. Maggard has repeatedly denied the claims and did so again Tuesday.
