MadMen Enterprises Breaks Ground on Cannabis Mega Center

Retail cannabis giant MadMen Enterprises has broken ground on a sprawling, state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation and manufacturing facility in Desert Hot Springs.

MadMen already has a similar site in Mustang, Nevada. And boy, it's impressive

The Desert Hot Springs location will feature 26,000 square feet of greenhouse space and a 19,000-square-foot manufacturing center. The facility will be capable of producing 10,000 pounds of cannabis per year with sales estimated to hit $7.7 billion by 2012. It is slated to open in 2019.

Desert Hot Springs has become ground zero in local governments’ efforts to capitalize on the newly legal marijuana industry. City leaders began eyeing marijuana as a solution to some of the city’s economic problems back in 2014 when it became the first city to approve large-scale medical marijuana cultivation. Those efforts expanded with the legalization of adult use marijuana in 2016.
