Mike Tyson Breaks Ground on Mojave Pot Ranch

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is the latest celebrity to try cashing in on California’s green rush. ‘Iron Mike’ recently broke ground on a 40-acre pot ranch in Kern County’s California City with Mayor Jennifer Wood in attendance.

Tyson teamed up with business partners Robert Hickman and Jay Strommen for the venture.

The business trio formed and trademarked “Tyson Holistics” and the term “Iron Mike Genetics” for branding purposes, with the cannabis facility dedicating 20 acres to the cultivation of high-quality cannabis strains, the Blast reported.

“California City is trying to copy what we’re doing,” Adelanto Mayor Pro Tem John “Bug” Woodard said jokingly. “I think it’s a cool move on Tyson’s part and we’d be happy to host another location for him. He should give us a call.”

Tyson’s ranch will implement cutting-edge technology to advance the research on the health benefits of cannabis, according to the report. The facility will also include an amphitheater for live shows and presentations; a hydro-feed plant and supply store; an edibles factory, garden, extraction facility; and the “Tyson Cultivation School.”
