City of Industry Says No to Pot

The City of Industry wants no part of the legal marijuana game.

On Thursday, the City Council voted to ban sales, distribution, and cultivation of marijuana within city limits. That goes for the medical as well at the recreational stuff.

“Without a system in place at the state level to track the movement of marijuana through the distribution chain, the risk of crime from theft and burglary to manufacturing and distribution facilities is significant,” said City of Industry Mayor Mark Radecki.

“And, until traceable, stolen product will have street value for sale to minors, which is absolutely unacceptable.”

The city has a longstanding aversion to pot. Medical marijuana dispensaries are already prohibited in the city.
